PlanEat — food diary

In short: exchanging files is less convenient than an online service, but it is the consequence of having no intermediary. No data is hosted by us, so there is nothing that can be lost, handed over or breached.
PlanEat is a food diary that works entirely on the device it is installed on. What follows is the same text the app shows on the Info page.
No account, no sign-up, no collection of usage statistics. Data cannot be collected because there is no place to collect it.
There is no address it could be sent to. Consequently, under data protection legislation, PlanEat does not carry out any processing of the personal data recorded by the user, since that data neither passes through nor is stored on any system other than your device.
It stays on your device, just like the records you already keep. PlanEat adds no intermediaries between you and your clients, and does not reduce your obligations towards them. A diary combined with a meal plan is health data, which data protection legislation specifically protects. For information on how to handle such data correctly, contact your privacy advisor. All we can tell you precisely here is where to find the information you need.
An attachment sent by email or chat stays on that service's servers, like any other attachment.

PlanEat is downloaded from Google Play and the Microsoft Store. The stores may collect their own data, for example installation statistics or crash reports, under their own privacy policies: that is their processing, in which PlanEat takes no part. The app contains no store or third-party components that collect information.
Data controller. Under Regulation (EU) 2016/679 (GDPR), a controller exists where someone processes personal data. PlanEat does not process the data you enter: it does not receive it, keep it or transmit it, because it stays in your device's memory. No data controller is therefore indicated for your diary data, because there is no processing to refer it to.
Your rights. The rights of access, rectification, erasure, restriction, portability and objection are exercised towards whoever processes the data. For your diary data you exercise them directly in the app: you view, correct and delete it whenever you like, and with "Save a copy" in Settings you get a file in a readable format. There is no request to forward, and no one to forward it to.
If a professional works with you through PlanEat, the information that person keeps on their own device is processed by them, as its controller: the rights over that information are exercised directly towards that person, whose obligations remain in full.
Anyone who installs PlanEat confirms that they have read the following before starting to use the app. It is reproduced here in full, so that it can also be consulted by those who have not installed the app yet.
PlanEat does not require any registration or account. All the information you enter in the app, including the texts written in the Notes area, resides exclusively in the local memory of your device.
PlanEat does not transmit your data to external servers or make it accessible to third parties. The data you enter in the app is therefore not accessible from outside and cannot be read or retrieved by PlanEat.
Warning: precisely because your data is stored exclusively on your device, in the event of loss, theft, damage or replacement of the device, deletion of the app or loss of the data on the device, PlanEat does not have a copy of your data and it will not be possible to recover or restore it through the app.
If you decide to share your reports with your specialist, for example by email or WhatsApp, the sharing will take place on your initiative and through your personal channels.
Since the data entered in the app remains exclusively on your device, its storage, security and management remain your responsibility. PlanEat is not liable for the loss, deletion, alteration of or unauthorized access to such data, nor for the consequences arising from its export or sharing through third-party services or channels.

It uses no cookies, contains no analytics tools and collects no information about its visitors.
